What did Julius Caeser look like? *read details*?
Most busts and artist renderings i have seen of Julius Caeser portray him as a thin, thick haired young roman man. Yet why do a lot of people portray him as a fat bald guy with a wreath around his head? Is this a different person?

- He was actually balding, that's why he wore the wreath so much.
- that was Nero or another Emperor Caesar looked like a stud - just like Napoleon
- Could be like "young Elvis" vs. "fat Elvis!"
- Based on what we know, Caesar was someone who had a very self-conscious view of himself. Some nice young and strong busts would be a good thing. Remember, by the time Caesar returned to Rome, he was a man in his late forties. There is no way to absolutely to know for sure, but a balding man is the most likely image of him. I would not say that he was fat, though. He was an accomplished soldier who won the respect of his troops. You do not get such solid respect by sitting in the tent and doing nothing! Of course he did not fight on the line, but I am sure he had his share of battles.
