How do I clothe my 3d models?

I don't want to keep using the clothes that the program gives me. So which programs can I use to clothe my 3d models?

1. Poser has add-on products you can purchase to add clothes. Their advantage is the clothes follow the model. Otherwise, there are 3D painting programs. Gives your models the "super hero" mystique look. I got out of 3dsMax about the time drop cloth patches were being introduced. Clothes will be a problem. Poser seems to have the best answer.
