My Canon AE-1 50mm manual override camera ?

I was out taking pictures for my photo class, and the first 5 or 6 pictures I could just point and shoot. All of a sudden around the 6 or 7th I had to keep pressing the shutter a numerous amount of time before it would finally take the picture. I can't have my camera dieing out on me...I just had my car broken into and they stole all my assignments, lenses, filters, photo paper and negatives. along with my stereo. I had class earlier and then had to go to work so it was still in my car. I am going to be really sad if my camera is broken. Does anyone know what may be wrong with it before I drive out to a camera store 40 minutes from my house? lol yeh i know about aperature, shutter speed, capturing blurred motion, stopped, sandwiching photos, great depth of field, etc, Im in my second year of photography =] but I guess I will have to take it to him...i just hope its ok...

  1. Have your instructor look at your camera. They will be able to figure it out and help you. Photography classes are not about pointing and shooting ... they are about composition and adjusting the cameras shutter speed and aperture to control both the exposure and select the depth of field to enhance your pre-visualized image
