4. Demo software are free but of limited use. I think maya has a free software but it puts a maya logo on top of your work. But at least you can practice and learn with it. There is a 3d modelling program it is google sketchup. you can use for making models for car, building, house, etc. It is very easy to learn and use. You can download it. http://sketchup.google.com/
5. Gmax is a free version of 3ds max
