I am buying a laptop to do 3D CAD work. Will nvidia geforce work?
If nvidia geforce will not be the way to go, what would? How about Quadro fx?Know of anything better?

- Quadro FX is actually built for CAD work...so since you want to use the laptop for work...I'll would go for that. Geforce is actually more for everyday and lean toward mainstream use and gaming.
- no go for the Quadro fx... like he said it's made for CAD's
- Yes Quadro graphics are what you want. The ones that are the best performing and value for money are FX570 and FX320. The FX570 is equivalent to a Geforce 8600M GT or 9600M GS card which is midrange and the FX320 is equivalent to an 8700M GT which is enthusiast. There are better cards than the FX320 http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html but look at the 3D Mark scores. Some good laptop choices are the Dell Precision M6300 with FX1500, Lenovo T61i with FX570 and HP 8710p with FX320. http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=gen&c=us&l=en&cs=&k=precision+m6300&cat=prod&x=5&y=4 http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087¤t-category-id=1F106632CBC24D2CBD23DF19644D3694 http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?affid=306&item=M94244
