What are the top CAD software's on the market.?

I just want to know what software's I should be looking into studying. I've heard that AutoCAD in going the way of old fashion drafting. Help.

1. Depends of what domain you are into In automotive industry i work with Catia, Inventor, Solidworks I really recomend you study Catia, it's of major importance, not because of sketching capabilities (afterall i can draw you any object in autocad as well), but of assembly capabilities, making a working mechanism. Also you can test the strenght of the part based on a finite object analys that points out flaws and stress points likely to break. Also sugests to you where to put structural reinforcement (such as ribs and collars). And at last but not least, CATIA is a program used in all major automotive and aerospatial engeneering companyes and that's for a reason. ( Solidworks it's also good, very similar to catia from some points of view) *sorry for my english.
