no sound on my laptop after I reinstalled windows xp?

where can I go to re download this stuff. n no, the disk 2nd it came with for some reason won't read. nor will going to the compaq site help. if u know a place send me a link. 1. Try the manufacturers web site (should be in the support section).
2. The first thing you need to do is update Windows XP. The update should have most of your missing drivers.NEVER EVER EVER download a drivers from a p2p site like limewire or frostwire. To update Xp follow this... 1.Click Start 2.find windows update and click it :) Make sure its not a bootleg/fake copy of Xp if it is it will not let you update. Hope this helps.
3. 16 bit 3D SoundBlaster® Pro is just it's compatibility description , not it's name. Install and run http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php , click on the speaker icon and at the Device Audio and Mixer device you will found the two chips for which you need the driver.
