3D - 2

Can I use the NVIDIA 3D glasses?

I have heard of these NVIDIA 3D glasses and they look pretty damn cool. The NVIDIA site isn't very clear about the glasses set. Is it a separate graphics card or do you plug it into your computer and your graphics card will work with it? If it works with Other cards, would it work with my NVIDIA 9500M GS? And I haven't seen any pictures of it on a laptop, do they work on laptops? Thank you.

  1. You ned the right screen as well with an ultra high refresh rate and they are VERY expensive. Probably won;t work with any laptops.
  2. 3D is to do with the media player that will play 3D films. You put on the glasses to experience the effects. The graphics card will have no problems.
  3. They don't work with laptops. Only PCs with separate displays. I used to have a pair once, they give you depth perception in 3D games, well and truly awesome! Couple of catches, you need a *VERY* high refresh rate monitor. 120Hz or so for it to work, and a powerful graphics card (Ideally a SLi setup for 1 card per eye rendering). There is a dongle which attaches between the monitor and the graphics card, which sends a signal on refresh to the glasses to make them switch eye.
  4. They do not work with laptops. Those 3D glasses currently come only with a Samsung 22" monitor together for 600$. And you're graphics card will not work. You need one of these. * GeForce GTX 200 Series o GeForce GTX 295 o GeForce GTX 285 o GeForce GTX 280 o GeForce GTX 260 * GeForce 9 Series o GeForce 9800 GX2 o GeForce 9800 GTX+ o GeForce 9800 GTX o GeForce 9800 GT o GeForce 9600 GT * GeForce 8 Series o GeForce 8800 Ultra o GeForce 8800 GTX o GeForce 8800 GTS o GeForce 8800 GT
  5. No, It wont work on laptops. It's meant to only work with the bundled monitor the kit comes with or with any of these tv's or projectors. Also it only works with nvidia geforce 8800 gts, 8800 gtx, 8800 ultra, 9800 gt, 9800 gtx, 9800 gx2, gtx 260, gtx 280, gtx 285, and gtx 295. in the link you well see what monitors, tv's and projectors it supports http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_GeForce_3D_VisionBundle_us.html. The 3d glasses give cool 3d effects like in left 4 dead the projectiles go out of the screen giving you more of scray realism.
