The configuration 3d^44s^2 is more stable than the configuration 3d^54s^1?
Is this always true, sometimes true, or never true. Thanks
Public Comments
- yes because the S orbital is full.
- An element with this configuration ...3d^54s^1 wants to "lose" the electron in it's 4th shell so that its 3rd shell, which is much more stable, will be its outer shell.
