can i watch 3d/imax movies at home with my tv?

if i have the right glasses, the right film, can my tv play the 3d movie or not? my tv is 1080p. and by the way, i i think i read somewhere that the projectors are only needed for imax films cuz they are digital something but the film would be in lower spec in you home but it would still play.

1. No. Imax and 3D films need a special projection system to watch them, not just a pair of 3D glasses. Your TV is not capable of showing a 3D image.

3. right now the movies coming out in 3d are polarized and also use special projectors. If you want to watch a 3d movie on your televison it has to be in the old 1950's style red and blue colors. This really doesn't work as well so it is kind of a let down if you've seen 3d in the theater recently. I have the polar express in 3d on dvd that I got at walmart, it came with the old red and blue cardboard glasses.
