Are all movies in imax seen in 3D?
The first time i went to an imax movie i saw a movie and it looked 3D sort of but i wasn't wearing 3D glasses. I want to go to an imax theater this weekend to see a movie and i'm looking at the movie schedule online for this theater and some movies say it's "imax" and some movies say "AMC(theater) select", and some don't say anything. So what's the difference? Do the one's that don't say "imax" look normal like in a normal movie theater or does it still look "special" because of the imax screen?

- No. IMAX is just a massive screen with very high sound quality, making it much more enjoyable. The domes can be kind annoying though, as some parts are curved.
- 2D movies on IMAX look like regular movies, but a lot bigger and with louder sound
- Nah, I took my nephew to see a movie about zoo animals & pandas the other day. Just a huge screen with more comfortable seats.
- No... It is just basically a bigger screen than normal movie theatres have. Some movies are in 3-D. To check, go onto www.fandango.com and it will be let you know if that movie is in fact 3-D or not.

- Imax is pretty much a movie projected onto a significally bigger screen, to make it look like you're being taken on a ride through the movie. As for "AMC Select", that means that the particular movie theater playing that movie chose to play it due to its spotlight position, like Slumdog Millionaire.
- Quite a few movies shown in imax are just regular 2d. For an imax 3d movie you have to be wearing the glasses. If no glasses then the movie is in 2d. Now I have been to a multiplex theater in kansas city and a couple of there screens were labled as imax. Their size was in between a regular screen and the large imax screen.
