I have to build a 3D model of HIV virus, but i can't use food or sharp objects..have any ideas?

1. I would go wander around a craft store. They have all kinds of styrofoam balls and things. You will find something creative there.
2. maybe use a football or tennis ball as a base, I would stick pins in it but since you can't use sharp objects I don't know.
3. Cheap modeling clay might also help, for a heavy-ish base to stick your work on or to make the outside of the virus since pipe cleaners might not be an option (as you mentioned sharp). Elmers glue or rubber cement for the above suggestion of attaching colored and shaped beads and/or odds n'ends, perhaps a small bottle or two of primary color acrylic to paint it with so your work stands out visually.
4. Try making a orgami model it would be interesting or you can make a computer one with flash if you know ho wto do that stuff
