Why are disney 3d movies plots a different style from the 2d ones?

The 2D ones focus more on romance and happily ever afters,even the new 2D ones coming out(that Rupunzelle and that frog prince one). The 3D ones focus more on family and comedy. Why?

1. Well, the animated ones are more focused to keeping it like the plethora of other animated movies before it while the CG ones are aimed towards the kids who didn't grow up with animated movies. Besides, if they were mixed up, it might not be as god as it could be.
2. well, are the 3-d ones associated with pixar and the 2-d arent? maybe pixar isnt for the romance right now
