After how many miles does a 2004 Pontiac Vibe Sport Wagon 4d start having problems?

I'm looking at buying one with 130k on it. What kind of problems do you start running into when the mileage starts to go up? Whats the longest anyone has kept one? Thanks for the answers!

  1. like every other car depends how well you took care of it but with 130k the timing belt/water pump are due, if they havent been changed and that can be costly
  2. no idea. my dads was totaled at 120k. and his didn't have any problems. btw, its over half toyota, so don't expect problems
  3. The Vibes are very good cars. Although, it really depends on how well it's been taken care of. 130K miles isn't a whole lot of miles, BUT it is a whole lot of miles for a 5 year old car. That rounds out to about 26K miles per year. The average drive puts in 12K per year. It's still got plenty of good mileage in it, though. Just don't drive it too hard, and take good care of it, and you can easily put in over 200K. I would have a trustworthy service tech that you know personally look at it first, and have him tell you about any problems that it may have. Good luck!
