Is it possible to tell gender in 4D ultrasound by looking at the head and face not the actual anatomy?
I had a 4D ultrasound at 19 weeks and did not want to know the gender however looking at the baby's head and facial features the baby looks like a boy. Very boyish like features, I know it is so early to really be able to tell but this REALLY looks like a little baby boy. Any thoughts?

- The ONLY way the determine gender is to look in between the legs aka anatomy...
- You really can't tell without looking at the anatomy. You will feel really bad if it turns out to be girl and you just said she looks like a boy!
- i would just look to see if it has a penis. instead of searching for other reasons. either way its a baby and you'll love it.
- i dont think you can do that :)
- There is no way to tell gender except by looking at the genitalia. Haven't you ever looked at a newborn in a white onesie and not been able to tell if it was a boy or girl? Especially trying to tell at 19 weeks your baby's face isn't even close to what it will look like at birth. Why are you trying to figure it out now if you didn't want to know anyway? =)
- The baby is only 19 weeks. There would be no way to tell at 30 weeks just by looking at the face! You probably really want a boy and are projecting those feelings onto the image. Infants usually look uni-sex at birth, even. Ask your doctor, and he/she will tell you the same thing.
- Well you can't really tell the gender unless you look at the anatomy, but i suppose you can take a guess from looking at the facial features, but it is not accurate. I know with my friends 4D scan she had done at 28weeks she showed me her photos and her boy looks very like a boy, like i said, it's not accurate but it's fun to guess like that.
- im on my husbands e-mail lol so dont think im wierd answering pregnancy questions lol its possible... i had a 4d ultrasound and knew it was a boy just by looking at his face because he looked exactly like his daddy... i mean if you want to get technical... no because you have to look at the parts... and babys do look the same when they are that young... but off the record... some mommies just know...
- i got 4d u/s w/ all of my diagnostic u/s. my 14 wk u/s my baby wouldn't open his legs so they couldn't tell if he was a boy or girl, but i thought his facial features looked very masculine and boyish...and he is a boy...
