What is the difference between 3D and IMAX 3D Experience (at the Movie Theater)?

I wanna go see Monsters VS. Aliens today and was wondering what's the difference (and which one is better) between an IMAX 3D Experience and watching the movie in 3D.

2. the 3d is the same for both. Imax has a much larger screen. Because of the larger screen it makes the 3d better but screen size is really the only difference.
