- NO!! It is not necessary to have a full bladder for this ultrasound. However, please ensure to eat a light meal prior to your appointment to help with the baby's movement. hope i helped:]
- well i had a bottle of water and a fizzy drink and some sugary sweets to wake her up a bit! shes a very active baby anyway! im 36w1d preg, i had my 4d scan done at 26w6d preg, the women told me who did the ultrasound that you should get the scan done before 30 weeks as after then the baby isnt as active due to less space in the womb! good look, its well good seeing your baby in 4d!
- I am good friends with a lady that owns a 4D ultrasound company, and she always advises to drink something like orange juice 10-15 minutes prior to the scan. Anything with a little sugar should help, the idea is you want the baby to be very active so they can get you lots of great pictures and hopefully a great moving vid of your little one! hope this helps and hope you have a great time getting this ultrasound!!
- I was told that with the 3D ultrasound I did not have to do anything special or different as far as eating or drinking. My mom was surprised they didn't tell me to have a full bladder for it -- as she had to years ago for mine! Also, people used to say to drink juice or soda to make sure baby is moving and to hope to get a shot of the gender. But with the technology now, you really don't need to do any of that. With the 3D ultrasound they can look at baby at any angle they want. They were able to accurately tell me at 16 weeks that my second baby was a girl. And she was positioned really low and towards my back, as well as having the umbilical cord between her legs. They were still able to get the angle on the machine to show that she had the lines between her legs and not the boy parts! They are amazing, and don't eat or drink anything any different than normal. Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck!
