3D - 2

I have a big screen older Toshiba television..all of a sudden i turn it on and there is NO picture..just black?

It was fine one day and then the day after it went rainbow colored 3D lookin..now today...which is the NEXT day there is NO picture and NO sound...ugh! help!

1. check your cords and then give it time to warm up...then if all elce fails change the channel and then if that does not work your screwed...get a new tv.
2. Sounds like your picture tube...Probably time for a new tv
3. It sounds like a failure in the horizontal sweep / HV circuit. The 3D look came from severe misconvergence of the 3 color guns; the convergence circuitry is part of the sweep / HV circuit. Whatever failed must have caused a fuse to blow. Saddly, it is usually more expensive to repair a TV than it is to replace it.
4. Hi Martha, sounds like the degaussing circuit shorted out, causing a fuse to short out.., i would sugest getting an estimate on it before buying a new one, this may be a lot cheeper ,than you will know for sure if it is. good luck
