3D - 2

How do you know if your TV is 3D ready?

Apparently, by the end of the year Sky will be broadcasting some programs in 3D. They say that all we'll need is a Sky HD box and a 3D TV which costs around £2000. My TV cost about this much, but I don't know if it's capable of 3D or not.

  1. there will be blurry colors of red and green, when you use the 3d glasses it will look 3 d
  2. It's very like spaghetti - throw it at the wall and if it sticks, it's ready!
  3. REALLY? I did not know that! wow that'll be cool.
  4. Ignore it , we have all been told that digital tv means we will have to upgrade but its a lie , if you have a 30 year old black and white tv that can be tuned through your video or dvd player then it can be used to watch digital tv . The freeview box , dvd , or video deciphers the digital signal so any tv can be used to watch it , they are just boosting sales is all . PS my tv is 20 years old and i've had freeview for 3 years and i truly believe the improvement in picture quality is completely outweighed by the fact that digital tv varies in volume so drastically minute by minute that its impossible to watch and the constant interference and freezes likewise . This has nothing to do with my aerial or tv because my father spent over £500 on both and had it all set up by professionals and he has exactly the same problems .
  5. The technology of 3d transmission is still really in it`s infancy and dont be worried by the hype there are other more pressing systems coming before you need to worry about 3d ones after all HD is of the moment and look how long it took sky and all the others to get the set up and equipment in place for that after all not everybody is HD ready yet ang analogue is due to be switched off in under 18 months stores are already pushing led technology and there are other developments to come in that and tvs are developing with higher frequency rates to eliminate picture blur from HD signals so wait for an even playing field let those with more money than sense buy not yet readt technology and you reap the benefits when they are ready and better priced just think how many films etc are made in 3D not many its too expensive
  6. don't know of a 3d tv on the market yet, may be some years yet
  7. Currently, there is only one TV on the market that is 3D ready (a Mitsubishi). It has only been available for about 3 months. Trust me - you haven't got it...
  8. you can get a 3d tv but its only got a 14in sceen and it costs about £2000 and you dont need to wear these silly glasses,,
  9. 3D perception is creating by differentiating left and right eye. The development of 3D TV is not matured yet. Some company, like Philips already have 3D TV but the cost is very high.
  10. 3D tv is just a form of optical illusion at the moment. There's nothing magic or special about the tv sets you'll need to watch the Sky transmission. With current technology you will need red/blue glasses to watch the programmes and a television screen that is capable of showing pictures in fairly good resolution. A programme transmitted in HD should meet these needs well enough. If you're watching in standard definition then you may see fuzziness or lose the 3D affect altogether if the screen is a cheap one. A good quality CRT set from 5 years ago should work well with the red/blue 3D image.
  11. Sky have already broadcast in 3D, along with other broadcasters around the globe. 3D TV, is still a few years off yet though, as they're still busy milking HDTV.
