If I have the money to spend?
should I buy a high end MAC or a really good PC, like one from Alienware or something? I'll be using it for playing a few games, photo and video editing and some 3D Architectural renderings.

- go for mac u will love it. go for a good mac.
- Better off with good PC for video editing. Mac can't do it.
- Don't buy a mac. If you're willing to spend more than $500 on a computer buy a pc. If you want the best for your money find someone that knows something about hardware, and ask for help on building a custom pc. If you don't need anything fancy, or expensive just get a cheap dell, or HP. If you like the look of Macs then just get a crap PC, and ask a tech friend to install Ubuntu on it (A free linux OS that can do everything a mac can with far less system requirements).
- I use Intel-based computers exclusively. We do complex animation editing, as well as general audio/video editing, as do our clients. Macs are great for graphics, but not very good for gaming. BTW, I find the non-answers of both PC and Mac fanboys/girls rather annoying. EDIT: Alienware is overhyped, overpriced DELL CRAP. BTW, that Alienware ALX X58 STARTS at $3,599. What a waste. I could make the same build for UNDER $2K.
- Buy a pc. Macs are overpriced and underpowered.
- The ALX X58 from alienware is a very very powerfull computer and will allow you do to do everything you have asked for.
- if you have the money to spend, why not get both?
