What program can I use to create 3D images on the computer? And where can i find it?

I've seen many awesome images from experienced "drawers" using 3D imaging I would like to do such things. Of course I'll need practice tho, but I'm willing.

2. Google SketchUp is free! Sadly, I'm outdated when it comes to other 3D software. It's been around 5 years. O_o
