Question for ladies who have had a 3d ultrasound?

I was wondering how far along you were when you got the 3D ultrasound done and were you happy with the results of it? Do you think you got it done too early or too late? I am almost 17 weeks and I go back for another u/s june 16 to find out what were having I will be 22 weeks then, me and my husband were thinking about saving up the money to get the 3D ultrasound done at 30 weeks. Thanks a lot for any advice!

1. the best time is between 28 and 32 weeks. I went at 30 weeks and it was perfect! Have fun!

I havent had a 3d ultrasound yet- am booked in to have one next week :) The clinic I am going to recommends having the scan between 27 and 32 weeks gestation so 30 weeks would be a great time to have one. I do know people that have had them done and all have been happy with the results. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
3. I agree with the other two answers, around 30 weeks is the best time. The further along you get in your pregnancy the less clear the 3D pictures tend to be. I had mine done at 28 weeks and it was great. Good luck with your pregnancy :)
4. I've had several as I am covered for them by my insurance. The big twenty week scan is a good time to have it done if you're only having one though as this is a long and detailed scan and the baby is well developed and looks like a 'baby'. Thaqt being said i had one at 15 weeks and that was also clear as a bell and you could make out lots of features. The only difference between having one later or earlier is how developed the baby is. However between 20 - 30 weeks might be a good time as the baby still has enough room to move and if its facing awkwardly you might be able to coax it around to see you (though if it wants to be shy it will be - I was mooned for the entirety of my last scan - it just wouldn't turn around so we could see its face!)
5. we got one when my gf was 19 weeks and it looked real good and clear. we could see all his features and everything. we got another one when she was 26 weeks and it was real blurry b/c he was a lot more active and stuff.
6. I had my standard ultrasound done at 18 weeks. This was 3D but baby was small and also naughty, so I was unable to see alot of him (he was face down towards my pelvis and wriggling like a maniac). My girlfriends have had the 4d/3d scans and paid for them at around the 30 week mark. The photos from these scans were increadible and remarkably accurate. Me personally, I already know im having a boy and want to keep his little face a surprise :) Good luck....
7. I got to have two 3d ultra sounds my 1st was at 17.5 weeks and my recent one was at 22 weeks [: they are amazing! watching your baby move will make you smile
8. I got mine done at 28 or 29 weeks and it was wonderful, the only problem we had was that she had her face pushed into the placenta most of the time. It was amazing how much she looked like her 3D pic when she was born. I think it was alot of fun so I definitely recommend it and I think anywhere from 27 to 30 weeks is perfect.
