- no you do not need a projector. 3D can be viewed on a regular TV with the polarized glasses that are provided.
- You can view them on your TV, and there is usually only two pair of glasses provided. However, the quality is horrible at home. I wouldn't recommend it. I tried "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and it stunk even on my 50" LCD HD television. They are not polarized, because television sets cannot reproduce the polarized light, so they are the old red and blue glasses. That's why the result is so poor at home. In the movie theater, the light passes through polarization lenses and is projected onto a non-depolarizing silver screen surface which is required to preserve the polarization and compensate for light loss. You can't achieve that at home with a TV set.
