What Animation Software is used in Harry Potter Movies?

I watched the Harry Potter movies yesterday through renting it at Video Rental Store. I was amazed of the 3D animations like moving giant bird that can be touched by Harry, flying bird with horse-like feets and carrying Harry. And The tri-wizard tournament dancing fireworks and many more. Anyone who knows the animation software?

FramestoreCFC which I think is the studio behind harry potter visual effects is using Autodesk Maya for animation, along with Shake and Nuke for compositing. but it's usually not one single software used in movies. most visual effect studios use either Maya or Softimage XSI for animation, maybe Houdini for particle effects, Renderman for rendering, Shake, Fusion or Nuke for compositing, RealFlow for water simulation, Massive for Crowd simulation, etc... and they have a development crew creating their own software and scripts if needed.
