What are some c.a.d. Drafting software I can buy for a reasonable price. (read more)?

basically I want a program that I can do 3d renderings of house plans and interior layouts. I went to ITT Tech today and their drafting course students have this awesome program...but it costs anout 2500...I'm looking for more around the 500 or less range...but free downloads would be better!

1. -Drafting- programs don't usually do renderings. They can do 3-D 'wireframe' drawings, add surfaces, etc., but not really artistic renderings. There are a million programs, though, made for designing houses and landscapes, that are made for consumers with no special training. Google 'architectural rendering' and you'll see a dozen or more of them, in various price ranges. Some are made for just making pictures of your 'dream house' and include libraries of furniture, trees, textures for roofs and lawns,etc. Others are much more elaborate and show were the wall studs and floor joists go and calculate how many board feet of lumber you need and how many yards of concrete.
