Can they still do a 4d ultrasound if baby is head down?

Im booked for a 4d ultrasound tomorrow but i went to the midwide last week and she said that baby is head down but not engaged. Will they still be able to see her properly? Also at my last scan at 18 weeks the gender was only 80% girl as he said 'she' was in a very difficult position. Will the 4d scan be able to give a more accurate prediction?

  1. I'm not sure of the answer to this, but have you tried calling the place you have your appointment as they will be able to give you more information.
  2. Yes they can, but you probably won't get good views of her face. I was going to have a 3d scan, but my baby doesn't co-operate very well during scans and checkups, so i didn't want to waste the money. If she is in a good position they should be able to tell you the sex for definite (or 99%). They will probably take more time to try and get baby to move to. I hope you do get good pics. Good luck.
