What is the best way to build a 3D model of an Egyptian God?

My son has to design and construct of an Ancient Egyptian God, he has chosen to do Ra, but not having an artistic bone in my body, I have no idea how to best construct this....any ideas? The model has to be about 30cm tall (12 inches)
