3D - 2

Are there any easy, free 3D modeling programs for amateurs?

I'm an amateur interested in fooling around with making some 3D scenes. I've downloaded Daz, but I think I screwed up my directories and it won't work. Are there any other similar programs? Thanks!

  2. Blender, hands down. Superb software, freeware too, great forums, demos, tutorials etc.
  3. I really like POV-ray. It's really easy to learn if you take an afternoon to go through the tutorial. After just a few hours, you'll be making some very fun and interesting scenes.
  4. You might try Blender: http://www.blender.org/ or POV-RAY: http://www.povray.org/ Blender comes with an interface for creating the models, for POV-RAY you either use a text file, or you can find some graphical front-ends.
