3D - 2

Why are people so crazy about 3D and IMAX movies?

I don't get what's so great about things flying in your face.. or having to crane your neck to watch it. I work at a movie theater and people freak out because they can't see G-Force in 3D at our theater...... seriously?

  1. i know right - my family will watch anything if its in 3D, i dont see what the big deal is, i personally dont enjoy watching 3D movies
  2. Have you even seen a movie in 3d nowadays? The technology is way better and you don't need to crane your neck anymore. 3d makes you 'experience' the movie in a more up-close perspective...I personally understand why people want to watch in 3d, and I'd want to watch G-Force in 3d too.
  3. There are some movies that are more fun to see in 3D and IMAX than others. But really, who would want to see G-Force in 3D? It's not that exciting. The high adventure, high action movies are the ones to see in 3D. But just the thrill and feeling of actually being part of the movie is mostly the appeal. It's a different experience and people like it.
  4. I dunno, I don't really like 3-D or IMAX. Most 3-D movies I've seens aren't even very 3-D and IMAX is just odd.
  5. I have long, long felt that 3-D and IMAX are both gimmicks that often try to cover a lack of film making talent or story telling abilities. It still amazes me that Alfred Hitchcock made a 3-D movie (some prints of "Dial 'M' For Murder) and that John Wayne even made a 3-D movie ("Hondo" based on a Louis L'Amour classic)
  6. 3D because supposedly the experience will be '' out '' of this world IMAX because supposedly it has better quality
  7. How come so many people won't watch a movie in black and white? Just because it is in color doesn't make it a better movie.
  8. Not sure if you've noticed, but back in the early/mid 90s (soooooo long ago..lol) 3D movies in theaters were almost non-existent. Here are a couple of factors for the latest 3D craze: 1. People downloading movies illegally on the rise. 2. Home theaters getting better & better (7.1 audio & Blu Ray..hello?) 3. A 3D experience you simply CAN'T replicate at home (at least, not yet, unless your like super rich). I admit, I'm a sucker for 3D movies, the IMAX 3D movies & Real 3D are lots of fun & almost feel theme park-ish...its worth the few extra dollars. By the way, you couldn't PAY me to see G-Force in a standard theater...my kids really wanted to see it & I managed to snag some pre-screener passes AND it was in 3D! Thanks God!
