How can I contribute to my college using 3D Studio Max and other graphics software like Photoshop?

I have decided to make a model of my college using 3D studio max with lots of animation in it. How is the idea? please give me other suggestions...:)

2. Personally, I use blender 3d, but the basics are the same. I would use a blueprint of the ground floor as a background image and model based off of that. (In blender you just go into edit mode and ctrl+click to add vertexes at every corner and lines along every wall, then extrude everything along the z-axis.)
