- The physical 3D TV, no. The reason being is that, what good is to spend money on a 3D TV when there's nothing to watch in 3D? There is a major lack of material to show in 3D, so you'll have this amazing feature that just sits there and does nothing most of the time. The technology may well become a hit in the long run, but I can't see it really getting people that excited as it comes out next year. Content producers need to provide far more 3D content before it becomes a truly exciting option for the home consumer. It is a necessary stepping stone for sure. And its great to see it happen. But again, just addressing your specific question, I don't see it being that big a deal to consumers immediately. I think we need a few years of Hollywood and the Broadcast Studios investing in 3D content to allow 3D TVs to be "a hit."
- There are major flaws with the idea... 1. Only few TV programs will be needed to be watched in 3D. 2. Wearing silly glasses constantly... no way! 3. Child tend to be intereseted in it more than adults... and who buys the tvs!
- yeah Who's is gonna broadcast any content when they can't even broadcast 1080p yet. Seems pointless.
- No, i don't think it will take off. It's taken 10 years for the majority of people to move to HD. 3D requires a new TV and seems more of a novelty then anything.
- i think that it will be a big hit for the game company's providing that the 3d glasses that will be included will be a decent pair that feel comfy to wear for hours, for tvs i think things might be a little more tricky, new channels may have to be added and you might have to buy the glasses separately, although there will be flaws along the way the end result should be amazing once companies have had a little taster into the world of 3d.
