3D - 2

ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT 3D MOVIE SET-UP?

well i just bought a new 52" sony LCD/HD T.V. with a home theater system, and blu-ray dvd player, do i need anything else in order to watch a3D movie on it? or do i need to set something up through settings towatch it? i also have a HDMI hook up for for the blu-ray.....i was told i was set to watch 3D through that for now from some people and my fiance then i got this message recently "You need a 3D video source and the proper glasses. For example, a 3D blu-ray disc and the glasses that come with it. Different 3D requires different glasses. There are the classic blue-red glasses, then there are amber-blue glasses. I don't know if there are others. Now, the newer 3D that you are seeing in theaters is kind of available at home, but you need a tv (usually plasma) equipped with that feature --- you then need to hook it up to a PC and have the proper polarizing glasses. Samsung has a plasma that does it already ... Sony is coming out with one (I am not sure if this one will require a PC), but it does require glasses that are the most expensive part of the package" anyone else have any input on this discussion?

  1. I don't know much about the polarized 3D systems which are coming out for home theatre, except that they are going to be very expensive at first. And as far as I know, there isn't any content available yet. For the old anaglyph 3D technology, you need a pair of glasses with two different colored lenses - which type will depend on the video source. Anaglyph technology basically works by overlaying two slightly off set images of different colors. The colored lenses are supposed to filter or block the image meant for your other eye. This gives you the illusion of 3D. Unfortunately, most people find anaglyph 3D to be very uncomfortable for even just a few minutes - let alone a full movie.
