3D - 2

I want to have a 3D ultrasound which includes a dvd along with photos of the baby but?

my family tells me that it is a waste because it will not really look like the baby and the price of $200 is to expensive....This is my 6th baby and LAST so I really want special memories... If you have had a 3d or 4d ultrasound before please share your experience with me and give me your opinion.

  1. I had a regular ultrasound around 20 weeks, and had them record it onto a DVD. It was when we found out the gender too. It was amazing. You could count all fingers and toes, see his facial structure, see his spine, and the blood flow going in and out of umbilical cord. And it was not 4D. My insurance even covered it. Although the DVD was $10.. But it was great. Looked just like a baby would look like.
  2. My family thought the same thing...but my husband and I really wanted to do it...let me say it was the best 200 bucks we've ever spent. Even if he doesn't look like he does in the ultrasound, we got to see him move, and smile and stretch. It was incredible...I cherish those memories...it's worth it!
  3. From all my friends that had the 3d ultrasound their babies look exactly the way they did in the picture when they delivered. It's the reason I didn't want it, because I know the sex and now I want what he looks like to be a surprise to give me that extra motivation to push haha.
  4. i paid 125 dollars for it, and it was sooo worth it!! :D
  5. I have not had one myself yet but I am in late December.... My best friend had one when she was pregnant and the baby looked just liked her when she came out I couldn't believe how good the ultrasound was.... I totally recommend it.... hope this helps
  6. I had it done too at 19 weeks and it was so cool. I would do it again if i ever had another baby. The only thing was that my son did not look like what he did in the 3d/4d ultrasound.
  7. you can search around, but 200$ really insnt that much...not for what you get. i got it done, and it did look like my son. it was such an amazing bonding feeling i got when i got to see him. and its like, almost a spa treatment. you get to go sit in a room for 20 whole minutes and do nothing but look at your baby. no doctor measuring, telling you there could be something wrong...its just pure bliss. tell your family to mind their own business. this is your decision, and believe me, its worth it.
  8. Im having mine in 2 weeks. How far along are you? they told me that between 28 and 35 weeks is best time as it shows a realistic idea of what your baby will look like. A girl I know had one before and when i saw the pics I could tell the baby had her dads nose and lips, and when she was born she looked a lot like she did in the pics. It is amazing and if this is your last baby dont let your family decide for you. This is your baby and your moments so I say go for it!
  9. Hi, I had the 3d/4d ultrasound done with both of my children and it was so worth it. I got both of mine done when my babies were 20 weeks along because I really wanted to know the gender, and when my son was born I could see a resemblance. It was amazing to get to see my kids at that stage of pregnancy. For me it was definitely worth it. I have watched the dvd several times as well as viewed the pictures lots. I even had some printed off to put in an album as well as a frame. I think you would love it and your child will love it when they are older but it is completely up to you. I personally dont think it was a waste of money. Here are a couple of links to my photo albums of my kids of you want to take a look :D my son: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=1848371&id=535490707 my daughter: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=4077323&id=535490707 Both were done at 20 weeks :D
  10. I'm booked in to get mine done in two weeks and My mother is buying it for me as a christmas present and just because she wants to see her frist grandbaby..... It's costing her $110 but thats in australia so I would assume it costs a little more in other regions! Honestly it is worth it if mum didn't want to get it done as much as I did I would still pay them the money to see my baby. If this is your last make it special for yourself, give yourself a treat!
  11. well how many weeks are you? take it between 28-32 weeks pregnant.. NOT before not after. Cuz its gonna be a waste of time if u do.. I got it for 89.99 with DVD and pictures and everythign.. I searched online to get diffrent prices. Go to google and type 3d ultrasound offices near (your zip code) you will get many pages..check their prices. there has to be a cheap one near you
  12. I'm not far along enough yet to have it, but my sister had hers with my niece. It was amazing how much detail they were able to get! Right after she called me up and said, "Are you sure this isn't your baby? She looks exactly like you when you were a baby!" And she did when she was born! If the price is the issue, shop around. You can probably find places in your area that can do it for less. But if not, it's great memories, especially since this is your last baby and you want to enjoy it! Congrats, and good luck!
  13. hi! so i had the 4d ultrasound of my daughter (my first) and it had its pros and its cons. First off, it only cost $150 at our doctors, and that was a year ago, so look in to seeing if they offer this at other doctors offices or hospitals, or maternity wards. Second, make sure if you do get it done, you wait until around 30 weeks, when baby is fully developed for the most part, that way it WILL have a higher chance of what your baby will look like in the upcoming months. The positive thing was that it looked EXACTLY like our daughter does even now at 1 yr old when she is sleeping. Another positive is that it is a good memory and so amazing to see this kind of view, and along with the dvd I received 5 live video clips and over 200 pics. The negative, which happened to us, was that the baby was putting her hand in her face 90% of the time we were doing the ultrasound so we didn't get to see as much as we wanted. The technician tried moving the baby to wake her up but she didnt feel like getting up so she didnt move too much, so it wasnt too much of a live view, and she was blocked off the whole time. Regardless, I would say go for it because its def something you will keep forever...just wait until you are atleast 30 weeks though. Don't forget to look into seeing if other places offer this ultrasound for lower prices... Good luck and congrats!!!! =]
  14. Mine was great, and I had it done at 27 weeks, here are some pictures, sorry but they are mixed with regulars as well. But I had my done for $50 and still got the photos, and the cd. So I think $200 is a little bit expensive. But it is worth it. We did it for our three year old more than for ourselves. http://s606.photobucket.com/albums/tt150/zlosnica_13/?action=view&current=BABY_18.jpg
