Problem with my computer?

I have been having the same problem with my laptop for a while now and Im really confused. I will be on the internet and quite often it stops responding and at first crashes and then when I try and go back onto it or refresh, it doesnt respond, basicly not conecting etc. I have tried firefox, internet explorer, google crome, I have tried them all but still get the same thing. At first I thought maybe it might be my internet conection but It isnt because I can still use msn and skype and chat etc but yet the internet doesnt connect. I have been having this problem since I got this laptop and the same with the one I had before. Both are on vista so maybe its something to do with that. I have up to date virus protector and spyware so I dont have any viruses etc. I have a very good laptop, I have the HP G70 and the specs are... 1. You probably have too many things running in the background. Use MSCONFIG to fix it. Or you have a virus.
2. sounds like a Network problem. When it happens, right click your internet icon in the taskbar, go to network and sharing, and see what you are connected to. Make sure you are connected to only one network. You also need to reset your network adaptor.
