1. The Sony Vaio Why? The faster processor (2.53ghz) which most games will require, and the Nvidia GeForce 230 Gt graphics... Now, the HP has a nice ATI 4650 with a gig dedicated, but the failing is the processor... and most games will require 2.4ghz or better.... and all you need to do is examine the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS on any high end game you want to play, to see if the computer can play it. end of line
2. all you need is a laptop with highest graphic card and ram and best processor to play games smoothly.
