When is the best time to have a 3d/4d ultra sound of unborn child?

Im about 17 weeks pregnant now, and i was planning on going to get a 3d/4d ultra sound when i was about 22 weeks. Does anyone have a better time frame to go get this done? Thanks.

1. I had it done at 30 weeks because the doctor said this was the best time frame to have it done, because the baby's features will be very distinguishable. Its funny because one of the pics from it looks exactly like my baby does now when she is sleeping and shes 12 months old! I know its hard to wait so long, but its well worth it, and if you want to see your baby's face structure and nose shape, etc...then wait til around 30 weeks. At 27 weeks a baby can turn to sound and is more alert so maybe wait until then atleast. Regardless, whenever you do it, it will be quite fascinating and exciting.
