Whats the difference between a regular 3D movie and an IMAX 3D Experience?

I planning on going and seeing the movie Avatar and I noticed that theirs both a 3D movie and an IMAX 3D. Whats the difference? Which one is better?

  1. I always thought it was with the size of the screen. IMAX screens are supposed to be quite a bit larger than regular movie theater screens. Beware, some IMAX screens aren't what they're supposed to be. They're only slightly larger than regular screens. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/aziz-ansari-imax.html
  2. IMAX 3D is soooo much better. The screen is way bigger. And the sound depth surrounds you. Sound is so awesome. At the beginning of the movie it will even show you where the speakers are. Go and see Avatar at IMAX 3D.
  3. yay im goin to see avatar imax digital 3d in loews in manhattan, you guys know if that movie theater has a good screen?
