What is the standard or ideal resolution for shooting images for 3d modeling?
I'm going to be doing some photoshoots soon for 3d modeling models, and I wanted to know what is an ideal resolution to take them in(a minimum but industry standard) so it would best fit myself and possible future customers in providing them with quality models to base their 3d renders off of.

- If it's for industrial application (catalog or magazine print), you should aim for 22mp, which represents the low-end of medium format. If your final print size is smaller than 8x10, I think you can relax these a bit. ------------- Sorry, I might have misunderstood your question. If your end product is for 3D rendering, I don't think you will need anything as high as 22mp. 8-10mp should be fine...I would still shoot in RAW however just in case there are exposure issues that you would want to fix.
- I think Ken F has it spot on.
