Why can't i see objects in my face with 3d glasses at home like in Disney rides?
This may be a dumb question but in rides in Disneyland like shrek they were called 3d and it had an effect of making you think that things were coming up to you and even try to touch them, I have the 3d glasses at home and a 3d game and the colors look cute and everything but nothing like things popping out of the tv.Why? Whats the difference?

- It depends on the quality of the 3-D... I personally don't like the Disney rides etc, where things pop out at you because it really hurts my eyes. What you see on your screen at home is probably similar to 3-D you see in movie theaters. In this, all you really see is a lot of dimension/depth instead of things poking out a you. And for things to poke out at you like that, I know you need a larger screen to create that illusion... And the screen on those rides is actually much bigger than it appears and that is how they are able to make the 3-D objects seem so close. So on a video game, part of the screen would need to be blacked out to be able to mildly create the illusion. But it still wouldn't really work because the screen is much smaller than theater screens like on the Disney rides. I hope that makes sense! I know it is confusing.
- Disney 3-D attractions use a different kind of lens & projection than regular 3-D games & other movies you may see. Disney Digital 3-D is Disney's own company used for making 3-D attractions. It uses something called Circular Polarization, which is unique to each pair of glasses. This is why you can't use your glasses to view other things in 3-D.
