- You should consult Wikipedia. It actually has write-ups on several of the things you have already mentioned. Some of the pages also contain bibliographical links which you can review for further information on the subjects. I think that would be your strongest starting point. But some things to look at, RED - The camera system; It can shoot 4k (double film resolution), there is a stereoscopic 3D version coming (or perhaps is already out). Its changing how footage is filmed, so it will impact how things are broadcast. Laser TV and OLED - These should be the next wave in new formats in consumer televisions. Again, check out Wikipedia for more information. Super Hi Vision - Some crazy giant resolution format they're working on in Japan. I don't imagine seeing this really consumer viable for some years to come, but its being developed. Internet on TV - Look at how various companies (Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG) are offering you the ability to view things such as YouTube, Netflix, etc. right on your TV. It might not change the physical TV, but it might rock the cable/satellite industry if it ever opens up to things like Joost or Hulu (which some people have done using a hacked Apple TV). So again, look through Wikipedia and I'm sure you'll come across plenty. But there are a few starter points to look at. It shouldn't be that hard to find 10 minutes worth of information to come up, especially if you have a couple of pictures here and there to explain.
