3D - 2

Will an HDTV be able to play 3D programming?

I bought a new 46" Sharp LCD about a month or so ago. The new wave of televisions will be able to play 3D programs. Do I need a new tv if I want to watch the 3D programs?? Or is my tv capable? Yes got 120hz How much would a pair of 3D glasses run me?

  1. ANY TV will play 3D movies. Even my 30 year old piece of crap can play 3D movies. But you need the glasses or it won't work.
  2. If your tv says "120hz" anywhere, then it might actually support 3D programming. You will need some expensive glasses to go along with it though. Otherwise, it probably won't handle 3D programming. Modern DLP and plasma tv's are all 3D capable.
  3. Dude the actual answer here is a little more intense than just saying "Any Tv will play a 3-d movie even a piece of 30 year old crap" The truth is for a good 3-d image and a good video performance to take place you first must have the best tech out there. The TV you are buying is such, but you need a good DVD player and then you will want the coolest and latest Blu-Ray to get the most out of the movie experience. Sure, the image quality will be better on the new TV and with the improved quality brought to you by the DVD players or Blu-Ray you will see the differences. So get your glasses and popcorn and sit down now!!
