How do you make 3D animals for a diorama?

I have to make animals in 3D form. How can I achieve that? Using pictures and having it pop up won't work.

3. playdoh or buy the little figurines - like the little army guys, but animals instead.

Materials pictures of animals construction paper 1 large sheet of foam board glue - cut the animal figure out precisely; - using desired color construction paper, cut the same animal shape as the picture; -cut small squares from a sheet of foam board (e.g. small square button size) -glue small foam squares to back of picture and glue construction cut figure to the squares. (Figure should look like a sandwich with squares in the middle and able to stand and be viewed from all sides) Hope this helps! Good Luck...
