what is the difference in animation 2d and 3d?

what is the difference in 2d animation and 3d animation? which institute is good for getting trained in Mumbai?

  1. 2D is any object that just has 2 sides for example the paper is 2D the 3D is any object that you has more than 2 sides like a box its 3D but of course this is the simple answer that i can give you for example the animation movies like ice age is 3D animation...
  2. 2D animation doesn't involve third dimension called depth We can observe only width and height of objects So it is difficult display rotation of objects about y-axis in 2D However thees things r easy in 3D But 2D animation gives more comic look when compared to 3D animation. And technically speaking 2D animation requires tools like FlashMX,toon-boom etc where as 3D animation requires Maya,3D max etc
