4d Ultrasound?
Has anyone had the 4d or 3rd ultrasound scan's done and are they worth the money? Or do you think it would spoil the surprise?

- my OB suggested i don't do it because YES it spoils the surprise. And it cost way too much
- i had one done a couple of days ago at 16 weeks. i think they are cool, but i would have waited until later in the pregnancy. at this stage they look better on the regular ultrasound. on the 3d they look like they are a scary skeleton. but they are pretty neat. i would do it again around 27 weeks'
- I had one done, and it was ABSOLUTELY worth the money. It was amazing to see that she had my cheeks and nose, and my husband's lips. It was an amazing experience!
- My daughter wouldn't show me anything when I tried having the regular ultrasound! I got the 3d because I wanted to know so badly! It was totally worth it to me! Only get it if you truly want to know, though!
- HI I HAD A 4D SCAN DONE.YES ITS WELL WORTH THE MONEY.I HAD MINE DONE AT FUTURE BABIES IN READING UK. CHECK IT OUT ON GOOGLE.IT CAME WITH DVD AND TWO COLOUR PHOTOS.GO 4 IT.
- On My first U/S in the second half, my tec just switched over to 3D. I didnt ask for it. It was cool. My insuranced covered it, so I cant ell ya what they cost. I guess it just depends on where you go.
- i'm getting one done. i know several people who have had them done and they are awesome! i can't wait the place i'm going cost $155 and they give you 4 black and white, 6 color, 9 wallets and a CD that you can take home and print your own pictures off with. I can't wait!!
- I had a 4D Ultrasound done and it was worth every penny. I actually did not want it, my husband talked me into it, and I am really glad he did. It was amazing to be able to watch my baby play with her feet, suck her thumb, open her eyes. She even smiled a few times and we saw dimples! I keep one of the photos next to my desk at work, and everytime I feel sick/tired from the pregnancy, I look at it and forget all about my discomfort. I would recommend it to everyone!!
- They are really incredible. You can see your child perfectly. I don't know how much they cost, I live in Canada. You can see the baby much better than the regular ultrasounds. As far as it ruining the surprise, they just wont show you that area if you don't want to know.
- i liked mine i had one at 22 weeks and got to see his little parts, legs, and everything. it was awesome to see that he looks like my daughter when she was first born
- I thought about getting one but me and my husband decided againist it. It is a little freaky. We want to wait until the baby is born to see what it looks like. I do want to know the sex before birth though. And they are a little expensive.
- Yes theyre wonderful! Below are a few of mine! Theyre totally worth it! I now know what my daughter will look like! And she has some chubby chubby cheeks!
- I had it done ast 31 weeks and it was the absolute coolest thing I could have done. It was $300 for an hour of scan time, with a picture CD (just like having the negatives!!) a bunch of 5x7 prints, and a DVD of the whole thing. I wanted to get mine done because they were only 80% sure it was a girl at my 18 weeks scan, and I wanted to know FOR SURE (I absolutely despise surprises!!). The pictures I now have of her are keeping me from going insane while waiting out these last few weeks!! :) Good Luck!! :)
- I had the 4D scan at leeds, i got loads of pictures and a DVD, i wouldnt recommend anyone going there as it was soo expensive and you only get a rushed 20 minutes, look around on the web, there is one at barnsley much cheaper than leeds and they give you a whole hour and a gift bag etc. I would highly recommend anyone going, i wished i had done it with my first child. I think they would love to see it when they get older!! If you dont want to know the sex i dont think they will show it, maybe its worth ringing before hand. Me and my partner loved going, it was a very special day x
- I did it twice. I did it at 24 weeks and again at 32 to see the difference. I think it was VERY worth the money. I love the DVD and I can't wait to see what he really looks like. I don't feel like I have spoiled the surprise, it's not the same as seeing him in person. A lot of times you can get a deal if you set up 2 appointments. **TIP** if you do it, drink a TON of water the week before. The pictures will be clearer.
- I have four Sons and have never had one as I think it would spoil the surprise I never even asked what I was having its all in the joy of pushing them into the world
- I haven't done it as I have no kids yet but a close friend of mine had a 4D done while pregnant with her son. It is most definitely worth it, if you WANT to know that is instead of wanting a surprise. It is much better if you get it done further along in the pregnancy too....when the baby looks more like a baby. She got to see that he has her nose, chin & other stuff. She also got a "video" that went with it so we could watch him moving around. They are soooo cool!! I actually have two copies of the 4D pix (along w/ 4 reg. ultrasound) online if you'd like to see an example.....just message me & I'll give you the link =o)
- i had the 4d Ultrasound done at about 28 weeks..its was awesome girl! i saw every little detail. She had her thumb in her nose, she smiled and then she frowned! Mine was $200 and they found out the gender, gave me 8 sonogram pics, a cd and then a dvd with the actual sonogram! Good luck with everything!
- I think you should totaly go for it if you have the money and if you truely want to know what your babies sex will be, plus not to scare you but with this type of ultrasound they can also see if theres is anything abnormal with the child. I would definetly want mine to be a surprise.
- I had mine done between 26-27 weeks and it was AMAZING! It was so cool to be able to see his little face...the pics she got of him are so incredibly detailed. I don't think it really spoils the surprise though, because you'll still be totally speechless when he/she finally comes out! Mine cost about $140 (got a CD with the pics on it so I can make duplicates, DVD of the whole ultrasound, 14 color pics and over 20 black and white pics). Well worth the money!
- I went for my 20 week scan and she did a regular sono and the 4/d sono for free. When you are paying for it you should wait until the baby is more developed like 26+ weeks. Anyways, it was still very cool to see that my little dot has a face now. I saw his nose, mouth opening & closing, his hair and everything. It was so real and cool. I don't think it really spoils the surprise because either way, I still can't wait to hold him. I loved it and may go back in a few weeks for a more developed view.
- I had one done a few weeks ago, and I thought it was well worth it. The pictures weren't extremely clear because he wouldn't turn, but I was very happy with them. We also got some awesome video of him yawning and putting his fingers in his mouth. Just that alone will be a wonderful keepsake that we can show him in the years to come!
