Were you able to get a 4D ultrasound done?

Were you able to get a 4D ultrasound done? I asked the tech at my Drs office and she said I couldnt get one done unless I had a medical need for it. But 3 of my friends have been able to get it done and there was nothing wrong. It just kinda sucks that I wont be able to get it done without paying a ton of money.

1. My hospital wouldn't do it. I had to pay 150 bucks at a clinic 2 hours away for ours. But it was totally worth it. I got 4 sheets of pics and a dvd of the whole session. Plus they gave us a complimentary baby gift basket.
2. there is a place that offer free scans on line i didnt believe it at first but its true also a 3/4d scan was only £55 and u got a 10min dvd too also 4 big pics. really good too and clean and professional they were alot there also.. try google it ect to resurch thats how i got mine xx good luck

4. most insurances wont pay for a routine ultrasound "4 D" ultrasound. Some clinics will provide you with one 4D U.S. as a "perk" and they don't charge the insurance. With my first son the clinic provided us with the U.S on every visit. With my 2nd son( who was born in a different state) was not offered it and was only given 3 regular U.S. What it comes down to is the quality of clinic/Dr. your going to, because most insurances only pay for 2-3 regular ultrasounds. If you want the 4D ultrasound you ll need to pay more for a "higher quality" clinic, or there usually is Private companies(in most major cities) that will do it for you at a price. With my second child we did that and it cost about 175.00 dollars.
5. You usually have to get it done at a p;rivate clinic..unless you have a dodgy doctor that would claim a medical abnormality to get it done. It sounds horrid, but I've heard too many times of women bragging about how their doctors made up a medical excuse, just to re-check gender, or get out of paying for a 4D Personally, I don't thin they are that expensive.
