  1. You can do it whenever you want if you're paying for it. I got one at 15 weeks to see if we were having a boy or girl. She didn't open her legs so we couldn't tell. It's better to do it in your 3rd trimester because if you do it before then, you won't see much. And drink a LOT of water before you do it. Also, eat something that makes your baby active. That helps too.
  2. A lot of people prefer to wait until late in the pregnancy. After the baby starts putting on weight because their appearance is a little more rounded and what you expect.
  3. 4d is the forth dimension which refers to real-time 3d. The only way to do this is to play with your baby when you give birth to it. You are referring to 3d. This exam is not medically necessary if you had a normal 20 week scan. You can pay extra and get a 3d ultrasound for pictures, best done around 26 weeks, with just enough room and growth to give a nice 3d image. The facility which you had your 20 week will not provide this because it is not medically necessary so you will have to look up 3d imaging centers in your area and pay extra. This is not covered by any type of health insurance (but what is these days lol). It doesn't matter if you eat or not. We prefer baby to be not jumping all over the place or you cannot get a good image, baby decides the position and it can't be helped by any outside or inside (food) force. No need for a full bladder. The primary reason for a full bladder is to view the cervix and if you are just going for images of the baby's face the cervix will not be imaged. Hope this helps
