Should I buy the Samsung or wait for the 3D tv's and blu-ray players coming soon?

- Recommend you go to Home Theater Magazine and read the pro and con on Plasma and LCD tvs. Plasma is still consider to have the best picture quality than any tv in the market. You will also notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end, while Sony, Samsung and Toshiba does not (December issue). Other Brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. Read the September issue, it featured the 46" Plasma tv from Panasonic, best tv out of the box and no adjustment required and it is a THX (higher standard for video quality on a tv) certified. The 3D tv will add an additional $300 to the price tag when it comes out. If you read yahoo question you will find out that 95% of tv problems are from LCD tvs. Hope this will help you out.
- Given your two specific options, I'd go with the Samsung now. 3D sets are coming out soon, but (a) they're going to be far more expensive than conventional 2D sets, and (b) it's going to be a long, long time before all or nearly all of the major networks and channels start offering enough 3D programming to justify your investment. There will be some 3D programming soon, no question about that, but don't look for a total transition like the analog to digital switch in the U.S. last June.
- You should check out the new Samsung 3D TV.. It just became available for Pre-Order. Here's a link to a review http://the3dreviewer.com/?p=72
