What is the difference between the following 2 LCD tvs: Samsung 52" T5265F & Samsung 52" T5281F?
The 5265 is $3,500 & the 5281 is $5,000. They had them both at BestBuy. The 5281 was only hooked up to an HD demo, which looked so clear, that it looked 3D. The 5265 looked considerably less clear(still really nice) but was hooked up to cable. I wanted to see both tvs with the same feed, but the 5281 would only show the demo. I don't mind paying the extra $1,500 if the quality is a big difference. Is the extra money worth it? Does anyone own either one of these tvs?

- The 81 F series LCD HDTVs are the most recent generation (“8G”) display models produced by Samsung (S-LCD); the 65 F series are from Samsung’s previous generation (“7G”) product line. It comes as no surprise that you see a noticeable difference between the two displays. Samsung’s 81 F series LCD TVs, with only a very few rare exceptions, are distinctly different than any other LCD HDTV on the market, including other Samsung LCD TV models. The 81 F series utilize, very wide color gamut, “field sequential” RGB LED backlight units and do not use the standard color (micro)filter layer required on conventional white-light CCFL-backlit LCD panels. Samsung’s new solid-state BLU technology greatly enhances the contrast ratio (by a factor of 5 or more over conventional xxFL-backlit panels), reduces the BLU power consumption by approximately 40%, and increases the nominal lifespan of the BLU from 60,000 hours up to 100,000 hours. The features I’ve mentioned above are the primary difference between the two product lines. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend paying the prices you quoted for either of those displays. Knock-off at least $500 or more from those prices and you’d be getting your money’s worth, particularly for the LN-T5281F. One last note, you would be better served by purchasing an HDTV from a far more knowledgeable, customer service friendly authorized retailer other than Best Buy or Circuit City, especially for the prices you quoted. ________________________ CNET editors’ take: Samsung LN-T5281F LCD TV http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/samsung-ln-t5281f/4505-6482_7-32514517.html Official Samsung 81 Series LNT-xx81f Owner’s Thread Part II http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=899605&pp=60 Samsung LN-T5265F Review http://guide.printthis.clickability.com/pt/cpt?action=cpt&urlID=23528096&url=http://ultimateavmag.com/flatpaneldisplays/807sam52/index.html Samsung LN-T4665F Review by CNET http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/samsung-ln-t4665f/4505-6482_7-32306311.html ________________________ SAMSUNG LN-T5281F LCD TV http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/features.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=lcdtv&model_cd=LNT5281FX/XAA SAMSUNG LN-T5281F Features http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/productPreviewRead.do?model_cd=LNT5281FX/XAA PDF version of SAMSUNG LN-T4681F Specifications http://www.samsung.com/us/system/consumer/product/2007/09/22/lnt5281fxxaa/LN-T5281F.pdf SAMSUNG LN-T5281F User Manual Download http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDownDetail.do?group=&model_nm=LN-T5281F&mType=UM&dType=D&cttID=1584432&prd_ia_cd=02010100 Mechanism and Advantage of UFS (UniPixel?
