3D - 2

DO you need a 3DHDTV to play bluray 3D medial with a Bluray 3D player?

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32XBR9 HDTV. If I buy a Sony or anyother 3D bluray player, will the bluray 3D media work with my television. And will it work with a Sony Bluray Player BDP-S360? Will there be a free update to the people who own Sony bluray player S360, so it can also be a 3d player? Cause I have one and I bought it in December?

  1. yes unfortunatly because they just came out with the LED tv about a year ago and their super expensive and all the people who bought one are screwed because they are gonna be obsolite already. the way 3D works is it automatically shows and hides certain color in the light spectrum that the glasses also show and block out for an image to appear 3D, the 3D Blu-Ray player converts movies into the signals the tv needs to interpret the signals from the movies to the tv. so it also sucks for people who bought a Blu-Ray player recently thats not a PS3 because those will be obsolite as well. and as for people with PS3's (like myself) they will have a free update made to turn them into a 3D Blu-Ray player.
  2. The BDPS360 will not play a 3D Blu-ray movie. In order to take advantage of watching 3D you need the following: 3D HDTV 3D Blu-Ray (BDPS470 is 3D Ready) 3D Blu-Ray Disc 3D Glasses 3D Programming (only provided by DirecTV on 2 channels--one is ESPN and I forgot the other sry!)
  3. Ignore earwig, I have no idea what that guy is trying to say. Bottom line, you need 3D in the entire chain to see 3D. You need a 3D TV that can sync to the proper shutter LCD glasses, a blu ray player that supports HDMI 1.4 and is 3D and the proper 3D blu rays or other digital 3D source, like cable and SAT channels that are in the works. Sony has already given the model numbers for their new 3D blu ray players and two players that can get a firmware update for HDMI 1.4. Those players are very new models. If your player isn't listed, you can't do 3D and I didn't see your player on the list.
