can you take 3d board from a new sony tv and put it into a older tv?

Sony will be coming out with new 3D tvs soon and I want to have the technology but not buy a new tv. I have some repair experience with LCD tv's and was wondering if I was to buy the 3D controller part and replace it with the the picture controller for my current LCD tv would that work???I would of course make sure the tv's are the same and the specs are almost identical. Well what do you think???

1. No, that won't work. 3D TVs require screens with very high refresh rates - most likely higher than what your TV's screen supports. Besides which, the board is integrated with the rest of the TV, so unless your existing TV is a Sony and uses very similar components, you won't even be able to get it connected, much less working at all. TV innards aren't like PC components.
